About Me

Josi smiling with a race medal and a craft beer

Senior Middleware Administrator | Oracle DBA

12+ years · Madrid, Spain · OCI Certified Architect · Oracle Database · WebLogic · SOA Suite

I’m passionate about technology, exploration, and finding the perfect balance between professional growth and personal adventures.

Beyond databases and middleware, I believe that great technology solutions come from understanding both systems and people. My journey has taken me from Brazil to Romania, and finally to Spain, where I’ve learned that adaptability and curiosity are just as important as technical expertise.

Whether I’m troubleshooting a critical Oracle issue at 3 AM or training for my next half-marathon, I approach challenges with the same mindset: persistence, attention to detail, and a good sense of humor.

“Not all those who wander are lost.” – J.R.R. Tolkien

My Path into Tech

My career did not start in IT. My first job was cutting cheese at a supermarket counter. Then I joined HP, and later I left for a temporary contract so I could pay for my first Oracle course. In 2010 I started a blog called Desventuras de uma Geek to write about what I was learning, and that same year I got my first job as a junior DBA.

Everything I share here at Josi’s LAB comes from that same habit of learning in public.
